A fine English Regency black marble and ormolu library timepiece in pristine condition.

The clock is surmounted by an eagle on a drum-shaped case, the plinth is mounted with a ram’s head at the centre with oak leaf and flower garlands mounted at each side with a seated figure of a classical woman reading a book. The white enamel dial has blued steel moon hands and Roman numerals, the single train fusée movement signed on the front plate F. BAETENS, 28 GERRARD STREET, LONDON. The clock retains its original anchor escapement.

The right hand book is signed Coleman, 6 Westmorland St, London.
