PERCIVALL MANN, A FINE,SMALL ANTIQUE GEORGE III PERIOD EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK
A fine and small, George III bracket clock in an ebonised and brass bound bell-top case with four pineapple finials flanking the bell-top and carrying handle above.
The brass dial is mounted with a silvered chapter ring, finely cast gilt spandrels and a subsidiary dial in the arch for rise and fall regulation. The dial centre is finely matted with a false pendulum aperture below twelve o’clock and a strike/silent option at three o’clock.
The two train fusée movement has a verge escapement with spring suspended pendulum and hour strike on a bell. The plain backplate has an extraordinarily flowing bold signature, Percivall Mann, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London.
