Antique Dial Clocks
English drop dial and round dial wall clocks first appeared in the 1770s. Dial and Wall clocks highly legible dials and their cases are simple and elegant in appearance. The first dial clocks are very similar in style and design to the wooden painted white dial of the gilt chinoiserie and mahogany tavern clocks of the time. However, dial and wall clocks fusee movements are spring-driven as opposed to the weight-driven tavern clocks.
