A fine quality early Victorian rosewood sympiesometer, the silvered brass dial with a thermometer on the left-hand side and the sympiesometer tube on the right for the state of the weather. The adjustable scale for reading the pressure is moved up and down via a turned brass button to the right of the trunk. At the bottom is an adjustable wheel which can be set to the last reading to check whether the pressure is rising or falling.
